In Memory of Barbara Bennett
Mrs. Barbara Bennett was a dear friend to Betty Ersalesi. In fact, when The Betty Ersalesi Scholarship first began, Barbara was on the committee to select the winners. She served on that committee of The Betty and Buddy Ersalesi Scholarship until her recent passing. The Bennett Family and The Ersalesi families have been friends for over 30 years. Keri Bennett (Romano) and Bradley Ersalesi became friends in Nursery School when Barbara and Betty ran the Rutherford Recreation PreSchool together. We know that Betty and Barbara are out there somewhere at a diner, eating cannoli, drinking tea, and laughing a lot!
After Barbara’s passing, we were honored to present an award in her honor. Since that time, Barbara’s family has partnered with BCB Bank in Rutherford to create the “Barbara Bennett Memorial Fund.”
The fund will help all citizens of Rutherford by supporting the rejuvenation of parks and community areas/projects/citizens throughout the town.
